Hi-Line Homes - Our Decision Made

We started looking at Hi-Line Homes for our future home building decision and fell in love.

If you go to the website, we are thinking about the 2576 sq. ft. floor plan. (the picture is hard to read, but i think you can figured it out for the most part. ;P ).

Mark sent an email to them asking about it and telling them what had happened to our house and that we needed to do something soon. Chad, the owner, called personally on a Sunday to talk to Mark. He set us up to talk to a consultant who is in Moses Lake every Friday and Saturday and things seem to be moving quickly.
We told them that we wanted to proceed and hopefully (keep fingers crossed) the building will be started by the middle of February 2010.
They have been great, and all of their floor plans are wonderful. Here is a little discription of the floor plan that we picked out:
"Experience the exquisitely designed home with vaulted ceilings that soar through the main body of the home creating an open, welcomly feel for family and friends. Entertaining will not be a problem in this home. The butler's pantry has a prep area, sink and space for a second full sized refrigerator, and the eating bar adjacent to the dining area allows enough space for you to create your own buffet. The Master suite situated away from the other rooms of the home make this a true retreat with a large adjoining five piece bath and walk in closet. Two additional bedrooms, den and family room plus a two car garage complete this delightful home."
Living Area: 2576 Sq. Ft.
Bedrooms: 3 +Den
Bathrooms: 2 and a half
Garage: 22'x22' Sq. Ft.
Open Great Room
Secluded Master Suite
The site also supports virtual tours, so you could even do a walk through.
So far we have nothing but wonderful things to say about Hi-Line Homes!
We'll keep you updated as soon as more is decided.

Trees had a Haircut

After we had the house burn down, one of the things we needed to do was get our 4 large elm trees trimmed. I always tell Honor they got a haircut, she likes it! Our trees stood about 60 to 70 feet tall, they were awsome, but very very dangerous when the wind started to blow!! i never wanted to leave the house on a windy day. It wasn't uncommon to have very large limbs come crashing down, limbs big enough to do serious harm to house or human. We figured since we didn't have a house to hurt, we would get the limbs trimmed. It looks so weird now, those of you who have been to my house will know what i mean!!

House Fire December 2009

Well everyone, in the last month of 2009 we lost our house to fire. We had heat lamps on our porch for our dogs. The wind knock it over onto a foam dog bed....
December 6th (my birthday), we awoke about 3:30ish to loud popping noises, that turned out to be bullets on the front porch. Honor was sleeping with us that night because we had company over, all 3 of us sat up in bed. I looked out my window and saw that the front porch was on fire. I jumped out of bed and woke up my cousin Rebecca who was sleeping in the front room right next to the window where the fire was. Once she was awake, i ran and got my other cousin Amber and her 10 month old daughter Amaya from Honor's room. Mark went and got the fire extinguisher, but it didn't matter. There were 40 mile winds that night, the extinguisher powder just went everywhere. we loaded everyone into the car and called 911. Mark stayed inside to see if he could do something about the fire. in short, he couldn't. he left before the smoke won.
it took the fire trucks 20 minutes to get to our house and then they took a wrong turn, so then it took an extra 5 minutes. with the 40 mile winds, our house was gone in less than 45 minutes.

So on my birthday, we lost our house, everything inside and 3 cats. sigh. its the cats i feel the most guilty about, i know there was nothing i could have done. but they were my cats. i loved them.
